Rachmaninoff: Cello Sonata in G Minor, Op. 19

Cellist Dobrochna Zubek and pianist Lisa Tahara of the Zuhara Duo perform the first movement (Lento - Allegro moderato) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata in G Minor, Op. 19 at St. Andrew's Church in Toronto, Ontario.

  • The performance was a thrill… [Lisa’s] Yamaha instrument was not an ideal vehicle, not as beautiful as her playing… her phrasing was elegant, light in the scherzo, her quick octaves marvelous to watch. And I was lucky to be sitting really close!

  • Dobrochna, marvellous cellist, impressive big sound, demonstrating love and commitment for her instrument. I will be an honour if she plays one of me works.
